When Sonic the Hedgehog was released for iOS and Android phones, the imaginations of Nintendo fans went wild. If Sega could give fans a taste of a favorite classic, would Nintendo ever follow? What gamer wouldn't love to play an official copy of Super Mario All-Stars or Zelda II: The Adventure of Link on their smartphone? In our opinion, Nintendo should jump on this ASAP!
Anyway, the crew over at Modojo shares some of their favorite Nintendo games they would love to see on iOS and Android platforms. Check out some of their picks along with our comments...
Mario Kart 64
This is the one game where many people still break out their N64s to play. It's not just nostalgic but it's tons of fun! Besides being a fan favorite and awesome at any party, having this in the App Store or Google Play would instantly make it the ultimate racing game available for any mobile phone. Imagine the potential to have wireless multiplayer matches...this could keep you and your friends entertained for hours!
Star Fox 64
Star Fox 64 is a side-scrolling 3D-shooter notorious for being the first game to use vibrating controller technology. The player must use Fox's spacecraft (the Arwing) through different climates while various enemies in spaceships and robots attack him. Star Fox 64 delivers three classic multiplayer modes that support four players, and we have yet to see a game like this on either app store.
Selling over 8 million copies worldwide, Goldeneye 007 became the third-best selling N64 game of all time. It is still widely-considered by fans and critics alike to be one the most influential games inspiring future giants like Call of Duty and Halo. Multiplayer in Goldeneye 007 was a classic experience that offered a lot of fun with friends thanks to a ton of different options for up to four players at the same time. Aside from being a really great time, Goldeneye 007 could graphically benefit from smartphone technology.
