While you can tell from the image to the right, this one deserves a special descriptor. Meloetta looks like a ballerina that was given the Joker treatment. In other words, it looks like nothing. At least back in my day, Pokemon looked like actual creatures (or at least personified objects). Now, we get living, breathing and dancing musical notes ... get off my lawn.
At any rate, Meloetta is the first Pokemon able to change forms while in battle. In its Aria Forme, Meloetta is a Normal and Psychic type Pokemon, but it switches to a Normal and Fighting type Pokemon while in Pirouette Forme. This is possible through a special move exclusive to Meloetta, which is also technically the first Normal and Fighting type Pokemon. Here's how to get it starting March 4 or 9 in Canada.
- A Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo DS system
- A copy of Pokémon Black 2, Pokémon White 2, Pokémon Black, or Pokémon White
- The Pokédex within the game
- No more than 11 Wonder Cards in their possession
Oh, and one more thing. If this is the sort of new Pokemon we're catching now, imagine what kinds of downright goofy monsters we'll come across this fall. Think about that.
