Achievement hunters and word game fans in general can login to Wordament with their Xbox Live account or play as a guest if they like. From there, the game is a pretty standard take on Boggle, as players swipe their fingers across letters in order to make words. The longer the word, the more points are earned, and the game continues until time runs out. Wordament is a constantly moving game, as games are forever running for anyone that's interested in playing, and you can jump in and out of games as you see fit.
As with the Windows 8 and Windows Phone versions, Wordament tracks your stats in terms of longest word length, total words played, best ranking amongst your opponents and more. If you've played another version of the game outside of iOS, and decide to login to your Xbox Live account, you'll see those stats carried over, but the achievements are fresh and available to earn all over again. That's right, players are now given the chance to earn achievements and points for their Xbox Live Gamertags, right alongside games that they might play on their Xbox 360 console at home.
This is a really exciting bit of news for Xbox enthusiasts looking to boost their score a bit higher with games they can play on the go, and for free at that. We'll make sure to let you know if additional compatible games come to iOS in the future, but for now, you can try your hand at Wordament by downloading the game for free on iTunes.
