Rovio has quite a storied history of latching onto brands with Angry Birds, its hit mobile game franchise. But this partnership with LucasArts is by far the most ambitious and, it seems, most spot-on and respectful. Dubbed Angry Birds Star Wars, the game set to launch on Nov. 8 seems to combine what made Angry Birds Space so fun with one big nostalgia bomb after another.
The Finnish developer has cleverly made it so each of the series' protagonists acts as a hero from the original trilogy. What's even better is that each bird now has new powers to reflect the costume change, as seen in the video below. As a self-admitted Star Wars fan, this looks downright adorable and all sorts of awesome. Then again, this editor said the same about Episode I.
