Understandably, players are frustrated by this change, and have taken to the game's official forums to vent that anger. Multiple threads have popped up about this issue in the last couple of days, and so far, it doesn't look like anyone at Zynga has made an official statement as to why the change was made. The biggest argument on the part of players is that their friends are wasting their onions, which are scarce to begin with at a low level, making progress harder than it has to be.
While we wait for a solution (that may never come), forums user JidderbuggSS has a great suggestion for those looking to save their onions from their friends: place a wall up that blocks those onions from your friends' view:
This may seem like an inconvenient solution to the problem, but at least it is a solution. We've reached out to Zynga for comment on this change, and will update this space if we hear back. Stay tuned!Since we cannot dismiss neighbors, I put up a wall and hid my onions behind it. When you want to harvest our own onions, just put part of the wall in storage and when you are done harvesting put your wall back up.
What do you think of Zynga's removal of the "dismiss neighbors" option in ChefVille? Is this change enough to make you stop playing the game? Sound off in the comments!
