The Sims will soon be without shoes. Tragic news, we know, but have faith in the Sims' ability to persevere--it's just a branding event. EA has teamed up with TOMS to help the shoe company raise awareness to the fact that many impoverished communities simply cannot afford shoes. So, your Sim can go shoeless with you on April 10, TOMS's One Day Without Shoes, in The Sims FreePlay on iPhone, iPad and Android.

Players that are interested in having their Sim go shoeless, will simply just have to take their Sims' shoes off on April 10. Those that do will earn a free pair of TOMS shoes for their character. Of course, there will be an in-game message that will tell players exactly what to do. Once the day is through, your free TOMS shoes will appear in the Create-a-Sim section within 24 hours.

While this is a branding promotion, do remember that it's also to raise awareness to a cause. The point of TOMS's One Day Without Shoes is to remind the world of the impact a simple pair of shoes can have on a child's life. With that, we hope you join your Sim in solidarity and go shoeless on April 10.
