The Sims Social just rolled out a new mission called Big Trouble in Littlehaven (a nod to the awesome '80s flick, Big Trouble in Little China starring Kurt Russell and a much younger Kim Catrall), and many players, including myself, ran into a big, nasty bug. In the third part of the mission, you're required to buy four indoor Japan-themed items from the store (see image above). After you buy the items -- and spend potentially thousands of Simoleons or Social Points -- the game doesn't seem to register that they have been purchased.
There's no official word from Sims Online yet, so fingers crossed that a fix is on its way in the not-too-distant future. And for those of us who spend virtual, or real, cash on Japan items, let's hope that fix will include some kind of refund as well. And if you're reading this and haven't started the new mission yet -- consider yourself warned.
UPDATE: According to a Sims Social game moderator, the only way to complete this goal is to buy four pieces of Japan-themed furniture, rather than decorations (see the eligible items below). The directions are a little misleading. As an "I'm sorry," Sims Online is giving out 2,500 Simoleons. Click here to claim it.
Also, if you don't have enough Social Points to buy the Karate Mat in this mission (it costs 1,000 SP), then head over to the Sims Social fanpage where you scan score 500 SPs on the house. Click here to snag 'em.
