Each schedule costs a different amount of coins to set into motion, but also rewards a different amount of Goods and can go to varying amounts of friends' cities in the process. Simply clicking on a schedule doesn't cause a train to depart; rather, it brings up a more informative window where you can see the exact details of how long your train will take, where you can also see how many other stops can be made by the train as it travels on its route.
Meet us behind the break for more details about this new train setup.
As you can see from the image above (which is of the very first Train Schedule missions available - the one that costs 65 coins), your guaranteed to receive at least 20 Goods by sending out this train. The train will take 5 minutes to return to the station, but you can also increase your Goods potential by adding two stops to the route. That is, you can click on the "Dispatch Train and Requests Stops" button to post a general news item to your wall, asking your friends to help you "add stops" to the train's path.
Doing so will reward you with more Goods upon the train's return to your town. In this particular example, you'd receive 20 extra Goods for the first friend that helped, and a final 10 extra Goods for a second friend, to bring the total up to 50 Goods in 5 minutes. You can also add extra Goods, or make your trains return instantly by paying City Cash, if you so choose.
As you browse through the new Train Schedule list, you can also hover over each job to see the maximum amount of Goods possible should you have your entire Route filled by helpful friends. Remember that this is just the maximum amount of Goods, which isn't guaranteed to you. To see the minimum amount of Goods for a job, you'd need to click on the train schedule to open up the information window like that above.
Zynga says that this new way of running trains will help you earn more Goods than ever before, but of course that will only be true if you have a lot of helpful friends on hand at all times to click on wall posts. Still, I suppose this simple wall post is better than sending trains to other users' towns asking for their own Goods, which didn't work either. It will be interesting to see if these new posts flood our news feed, or if people stick to the minimum amount of Goods for each job.
