FarmVille farmers have been puzzled by the seemingly useless FarmVille Fruitcake turning up in their gift boxes. While the forums have been ripe with speculation about what these FarmVille Fruitcakes could be used for, I have some ideas of my own.

FarmVille Fruitcake can be gifted to friends when your Turkey Roost is ready to harvest. The more turkeys you have in your Turkey Roost, the better the chance of receiving Fruitcake. Those who were fortunate enough to get their hands on FarmVille Fruitcake have reported that it currently has no use. When they click the Fruitcake they receive the message, "Whoa there, farmer! We don't have anywhere for you to put this just yet. Why not hang onto it in your Gift Box for just a little longer?"

Continue reading to see what I think the FarmVille Fruitcake might be used for. Several clues have given me a few ideas as to what FarmVille Fruitcake might be used for. My first guess is that the FarmVille Fruitcake is part of the Thanksgiving Feast, pictured above. Both it's link to the Turkey Roost and the timing of the Fruitcake appearing in gift boxes, suggests that we'll be seeing Fruitcake as part of a collectible and giftable Thanksgiving collection or Harvest gifts for the Thanksgiving Feast.
My other hunch is that the FarmVille Fruitcake will be part of a Holiday Collection. Much like the Autumn Collection, this assortment of giftable items (pictured below) will need to be collected for a prize. FarmVille Fruitcake is clearly included in the final assortment of goodies. Perhaps this Holiday Collection, including the Fruitcake, will be part of the Thanksgiving Feast next week. However, none of the items are very Thanksgiving-y, they look more holiday oriented. Fruitcake is usually a Christmas affair. It's also important to note that there are only five items, when past collections usually have six, which only adds to the mystery.

Also, the fact that Fruitcake keeps glitching and disappearing out of FarmVille players' gift boxes, leads me to believe that the Fruitcake/Turkey Roost link may have been accidental, and the Fruitcake release: premature. This backs up the idea that the Fruitcake might be part of a collection coming later on.

Of course these are just my Fruitcake speculations, nobody knows for sure what the FarmVille Fruitcake is for yet. But I guarantee you the Fruitcake will be useful for something very soon. I definitely recommend hanging onto those mysterious FarmVille Fruitcakes for the time being.
