If you don't want to be an unhappy Happy Pets player, you should read this post for a heads-up of what to expect from the game's new Mystery Boxes. Shortly after the boxes made their debut last Friday, upset players were already complaining on the official Happy Pets forum.
Here's a recap of the major gripes: 1) Inclusion of items that cost LESS than the boxes. 2) A seemingly ineffectual "Add Luck" feature. 3) No special items have been declared for the Mystery Boxes, meaning there's nothing new.

But here's the good news: 1) You can get XP by clicking on your friend's Mystery Boxes to "add luck". 2) Even if you buy a "Mystery Box" for 50 Coins, you're still eligible for items that normally require Facebook Credits to get. 3) "Premium Mystery Box" guarantees you a premium (or Facebook Credits-only) item inside.
Anyway, we thought it'd be helpful to report on the items found so far, and what their prices are. I've also bought 7 Mystery Boxes to see what the results will be after 24 hrs.
List of User-Reported Items:
