There's a lot of sad and lonely animals roaming around FarmVille, waiting to be adopted. The latest wandering animal is a black kitten who, when adopted, can be harvested for yarn (not hairballs as my coworkers suggested) in three days. If you're not a big fan of cats, you can also just sell the little critter for 95 coins.
Update: Zynga says that the black cat was originally for Halloween only, but will stick around a little longer for people -- like me -- who have not been able to adopt one yet.
Some users have been complaining that the cats have been disappearing when clicked on, only to reappear after the screen is refreshed. Players reported the same problem with the sad, lonely turtles that started to appear on farms a week or so ago.
We've contacted Zynga to get answers about the case of the missing animals, and we'll update this as soon as we hear back.
