To promote the film, Sony Pictures released an iPhone game called Zombieland that lets players control Tallahassee's fight through scores of zombies with fists and chainsaws. The action is done from a side view where you walk Tallahassee left and right. Combat is done through action buttons that control his right or left axes or punch buttons for when the chainsaw action gets used up. From the start, Zombieland isn't for the faint of heart. Chainsaws, shotguns, fists and even a banjo are used to take off each zombie's head. Of course, if they get close, the attacks get less effective and requires a kick to knock them back. Adding a level of strategy, the kicks do come with a price, zombies often grab onto Tallahassee's leg and a blue "shake 'em off" button is hit rapidly to back them up.

With several types of zombies (fast, slow and even fat ones), scenes from the movie (including a scene where Tallahassee and Columbus search for a Twinkie in zombie-infested store and Columbus' Rules for Surviving Zombieland extend the movie's fandom well beyond the silver screen. If Zombieland is on your list for weekend cinema, Zombieland for iPhone is the perfect before and after activity for only $3.99 from the Apple App Store.
